There once was a kid who had a dream…

Ever since birth I’ve had an affinity for sports. I remember going out with my dad in the hot California sun, tossing any ball that I had with me. I remember falling asleep to the voice of John Miller. I remember falling in love with the Golden State Warriors, the high flying Jason Richardson and the gritty Baron Davis. When I moved east, the first thing I did was fall in love with ESPN. I would wake up an hour and a half before school, make breakfast and watch Neil Everett and Stan Verrett tell me about everything that had happened in the sports world on the morning SportsCenter telecasts. I would then go to school, go to practice and run home to try and catch the 6 p.m. showing, just to see if I had missed anything. I then started calling basketball games for my high school, trying to imitate Gus Johnson or Dick Vitale. When it was time to start applying to colleges, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do in the sports world, but I knew I wanted to be there. Now, I’m ready.
